Frozen banana and strawberry cake

It is therefore a very suitable recipe for the cold season or for those who prefer ice cream for dessert, regardless of the outside temperature. To prepare it you need a few ingredients and a little patience. So you will have to buy: strawberries (550g), bananas (500g), condensed milk (400g), liquid cream (500ml), caster sugar (100g) and an envelope of vanilla sugar. We recommend that you opt for a round tray with a diameter of 22cm, in order to obtain a suitable height. For decorations it is good to have a few extra strawberries and bananas.

You've probably already noticed that we're talking about a cake without a countertop, so you don't need an oven. But you will need the mixer and the refrigerator.

Remove the tails from the strawberries and cut them into quarters, then boil them with the sugar, keeping them on the fire until the juice drops enough to resemble a sauce. Then use a mixer to obtain a homogeneous puree. Put in a bowl half the liquid cream and half the condensed milk, mix with a mixer until smooth, add the puree of strawberries cooked in sugar and mix again until you get a uniform composition.

You can already pour it into a tray or a cake tin in which you put some aluminum foil to avoid sticking.

Remove the peels from the bananas, then pass them well and repeat the same process as for the strawberries, with the rest of the whipped cream and condensed milk. Pour the mixture over the first layer and then put in the freezer, leaving it to freeze for a few hours. Garnish with bananas and strawberries according to your preferences.

Burnt sugar cream cake

If you have never tasted a burnt sugar cream, it is good to know that it is one of the most tasty and appreciated desserts. This cake is very simple to make and looks so good at first, that it rarely needs other additional decorations besides a little whipped cream. In addition, it is a cheap option, ideal for those looking for a way to organize an anniversary with a small budget, without giving up goodies.

You need: 15 eggs (10 for cream and 5 for countertop), sugar (300g for cream and 5 tablespoons for countertop), milk (1 liter), vanilla essence, grated orange peel, flour (5 tablespoons) , a pinch of salt.

Prepare the burnt sugar cream first. Put in a pot 150g of sugar with two tablespoons of water, leaving the burner on medium heat. It stops the eye when the sugar has turned golden and is translucent – if you leave it too long, it turns brown and becomes bitter. Use circular motions and a spoon to cover the walls of the pot with caramelized sugar. In another bowl, add the 10 eggs for the cream, along with another 150g of sugar and mix until smooth.

The best and most efficient is to use for this step one of the models of vertical mixers available in the market, which greatly shortens the cooking time and ensures the uniformity of the mixture. After the composition turns into a translucent foam, add a liter of milk and vanilla essence and mix for a few more minutes. The composition obtained to pour in the bowl in which you caramelized the sugar and put the oven heated to 200 o C for half an hour, in a bain-marie, which means not directly on the grill, but in a tray with high edges, filled at least on half with water.

Next is the countertop. Take the 5 eggs prepared for the counter and separate the egg whites from the yolks. The egg whites are mixed with a pinch of salt, until they turn into a hard foam, then add a little, the 5 tablespoons of sugar. When you have finished the sugar and the foam is still well defined, you can start adding the yolks, which you integrate into the composition using a whisk. Then add the vanilla essence, orange peel and flour, stirring constantly until the mixture is well blended.

Remove the container with burnt sugar cream from the oven, pour the composition on the counter and then put it to bake for another half hour. When the allotted time is up, take it out and let it cool well, then turn the pot on a plate, without taking it on the cake, so that it keeps its shape. Put everything in the fridge and leave for at least 6-8 hours, then it is ready to serve.
