We detail below some essential aspects that are good to know, when framing a stove in the house, regardless of the chosen brand.

Always check the product on arrival

Whether the stove is brought by a courier or transported by you, with a personal car that allows you to load a product of this size, it is important to inspect it carefully when it arrives at your home, before calling a specialist to assemble it.

Compare the description in the technical manual and the warranty card with your model and evaluate all the components that the presentation of the device says you should find in the package. Also look for the appearance of the stove, which should not include scratches or bends.

7 things you need to know about installing a stove

Contact an ANRE authorized installer

Many articles and tutorials on this topic recommend that you use a professional to install the stove, to make sure that everything is done properly. But what is important to know is that not every craftsman who knows, even very well, the installation and testing of such a device, can ensure the validity of the warranty.

In order to be able to contact the manufacturer in case of deficiencies in operation, for repairs or product replacement, you must use an ANRE accredited installer. The updated list of authorized installers can be consulted on the institution's website.

Besides the observance of the warranty conditions and the easy solution of any problems that appeared during the period it covers, an experienced installer also ensures your operation in optimal parameters, for a long period of time. A properly fitted stove means less risk of accidental release of gas, explosion or fire. In addition, many of the authorized companies offer you a guarantee for the installation service.

Carefully choose the connection accessories

In each installation manual you will find both the list of accessories you need, as well as clear specifications regarding their technical characteristics and sometimes, additional recommendations regarding the materials from which they are made. We are of course talking about the connection to the gas network, the installation of an all-electric stove being a bit simpler.

To make the connection to the gas network, two gas valves are needed, plus a connection, made of stainless steel, with a flexible structure. If you have bought a stove model that includes a flame detection function, which certainly stops the gas when it is accidentally extinguished, you will also need a gas regulator. The role of this device is to maintain the gas pressure in the optimal operating range, correcting the variations that may occur in the network.

The list of accessories also includes: nipple for connecting the connection to the gas pipe, gaskets, Teflon tape and of course, two pipe wrenches.

An experienced plumber will guide you safely and easily in this regard, the location of the stove implying some safety rules that it is advisable to follow. For example, you need a minimum distance of 25mm from the wall and 65mm from the furniture elements, placed on either side of the device.

If you want to use hanging cabinets and plan to place one on top of the hob, it is good to consider a height of at least 750mm from its surface, to avoid excessive heating. The hood also requires a safety distance of approximately 700mm from the burners, which protects it from heat, while offering the possibility of optimal capture of steam and odors.

It is equally important that the room is well ventilated, the ideal kitchen being the one with at least one wall on the outside, provided with a window that can be easily opened. If the space in which you install the stove does not have its own window, and therefore a direct ventilation path, you must establish together with the installer what changes need to be made in the apartment, in order to ensure the ventilation function.

Step by step installation

Although the assembly itself does not take long and seems very simple, it is important that each step is performed carefully. Installation only starts after the gas valve has been closed. The first stage involves inserting the nipple between the flexible stainless steel connection and the gas pipe and continues with the screwing of the gas regulator at the level of the stove supply.

The tightness of the joints is always ensured with gaskets and Teflon tape, at each connection, to prevent accidental release.

Checking the installation

The installation is never declared complete until it has been checked correctly and completely. For testing, either a soap and water paste can be used, which is applied in a consistent layer on each of the joints, or by means of a gas detector. In the first case, when the pipe valve is open, if air bubbles appear, it means that there are leaks and that the joint must be tightened better or the gasket replaced.

In the second variant of verification, the detector signals audibly and visually the presence of gas leaks. Changes are made only after the gas valve has been closed again.

Stove testing

Now that the device is installed, it's time to test the product's features, especially if you've chosen a stove from Beko , Whirlpool or Electrolux, with enough software to take you a few hours to go through them all. The most important help in this regard will be the technical manual of the product. We recommend that you try to go through all the functions provided, first of all, to make sure that all are available at the parameters indicated in the stove and secondly, to know all the cooking options that you can use.
