I like cinnamon… I like how the whole house is invaded with its smell when I bake a cake…
Even if in the list of cake recipes on the blog you can find some variants prepared over time, today I add another one, because it is a recipe that is easy to prepare and the result is spectacular. 😉
- 2 eggs
- 10 g dry yeast
- 100 g sugar
- 200 ml of milk
- 60 g butter
- ~ 550 g flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon candied orange peel
- ~ 50 g soft butter
- 3-4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Preparation Cake slices with cinnamon:
Mix the yeast with 1 tablespoon of sugar, a little warm milk and a little flour. Homogenize and leave in a warm place until it swells and blisters appear on the surface.
Put the mayonnaise in the pan of the bread machine or in the bowl, depending on how you decide to knead the dough, then add the eggs, the rest of the sugar, the salt, the melted and cooled butter, the orange peel, the remaining milk and the flour little by little.
Depending on the type of flour used, we may need a plus or a minus for the amount of flour.
Knead until all the ingredients are incorporated and obtain an elastic dough. Let it rise until it doubles in volume.
Remove the dough on a lightly floured or oiled table and spread it in a rectangular sheet about 0.5 cm thick. Grease the dough sheet with butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cut the dough into squares equal to the width of the tray in which we will bake the cake.
In the cake tray lined with baking paper we place the squares of dough, one after the other, in an Indian row 😀
Leave the tray in a warm place for about 15 minutes, then put it in the oven over medium heat for about 40-45 minutes, until it browns on top.
Let cool then turn over on a plate. The cake will break by hand, does not require slicing. 😉
