A long time ago I saw this recipe for the colors of the dish (which I thank a lot) and I really liked it. Whenever I wanted to prepare it, I didn't have all the ingredients at hand. I told myself that I had to do it for Christmas, because I wanted something with cheese. We modified the ingredients to suit our taste! I thought we would like it, but we all said that it is the most wonderful appetizer and that from now on it will be more often on our table. It is a perfect recipe for festive meals or for a family treat!

Ingredients:

  • 300 gr cottage cheese
  • 400 gr cream cheese
  • 3-4 sprigs of green dill (parsley or whatever you like)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dried basil
  • 1/2 red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon jelly
  • seedless green olives
  • seedless black olives
  • 200 gr sliced cheese
  • 200 gr sliced ham (Prague type)
  • 5 tablespoons corn kernels
  • chopped pistachios
  • homemade ketchup, hot pepper jam for decoration
  • parsley leaves
Method of preparation:
Mix the gelatin with 4-5 tablespoons of cold water and leave it to hydrate.
Red pepper, cleaned of seeds, cut it into small cubes.
Finely chop the green dill.
In a bowl put the cottage cheese, cream cheese, salt, pepper, basil and green dill.
Mix all these ingredients.
Melt the gelatin on a steam bath, add it over the cheese mixture and mix well.
Add the red pepper, mix with a silicone spatula.

Wallpaper a 12/25 cm cake pan with cling film.
Place the cheese slices along the length of the tray, to join a little in the middle of the tray inside, but also a little outside.
Then place the ham slices at the base, just on the small ends to be a little outside.
Put half of the cream cheese and level it.
On one side, lengthwise, place black olives, and on the other green olives and press them with your finger in the cheese.
Put half of the corn kernels in the middle and press them lightly by hand.

Put another layer of ham and one slice of cheese.
Place the rest of the cream cheese, green olives (try to place them over the first layer of black olives), black olives and the rest of the corn kernels.
Put a layer of ham again and bend the ham and cheese on the edge of the tray and press them lightly.
Now put another layer of sliced cheese.

Press lightly and wrap the terrine in foil.
Let it cool overnight.
Remove the foil and turn it over on a plate.
Decorate it with ketchup or hot pepper jam, sprinkle with chopped pistachios and place a few sprigs of parsley.
Slice it and serve it!
It's super delicious!
