Chocolate pudding cake using cake mix

Today's cake was originally meant to be the Day and Night Cake , about which I didn't know much. I searched the net and found various options. The idea is to make 2 countertops, one white and one brown, which are then glued together with various creams or jam when a fasting cake is preferred. I made the tops, I also made the chocolate cream, but when I assembled the cake I made a change of plans 😀 I said it looks better like this 😉

  • For the countertop:
  • 8 eggs
  • 8 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 8 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • vanilla essence

  • For the cream:
  • 2 yolks
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons starch
  • 400 ml of milk
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g ground walnuts
  • For syrup:
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • For decoration:
  • 150 g whipped cream

Preparation Cake with chocolate pudding:

Wheat:

Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt. Add the sugar and mix until you get a thick and shiny foam. Add the yolks rubbed with oil, as for mayonnaise. Mix well by mixing lightly. At the end we incorporate the flour mixed with the baking powder, mixing lightly with a spatula with movements from bottom to top. Divide the composition into 2 parts. In one of them we put cocoa and flavor it with rum essence, the other part we flavor it with vanilla.

Pour the composition into a tray (20/30 cm) lined with baking paper and bake for about 30 minutes, until the top passes the toothpick test.

  • If you do not have two trays that fit in the oven, I recommend making the compositions for the countertop separately.

Chocolate pudding:

Mix the 2 yolks with the sugar and starch. Pour the milk slowly, mixing well so that no lumps form. Put on low heat or in a baine-marie and boil without boiling, until the composition thickens. Add the broken chocolate pieces and the soft butter.

Homogenize and set aside. Add the ground walnuts and let them cool, stirring from time to time, so that no pojghita forms on top.

We cut the vanilla top into 2 parts, we syrup the cocoa top.

In the tray in which we baked the pond lined with food foil, we put the first vanilla top, half of the cream, the cocoa top, the rest of the cream and cover with the second vanilla top. Wrap well in foil and let cool for a few hours.

"Dress" the cake in whipped cream and portion as desired.
