For today I have a roll recipe for you. A roll in which several flavors and textures are combined, a roll that in our country was to the taste of the whole family 😉 I would dare to say that it is a perfect roll recipe for when you have to organize a festive meal, you will surely be impressed guests not only by taste but also by appearance 🙂

ingredients
  • Roll top with jam:
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • vanilla essence
  • Filling:
  • 3-4 tablespoons healthy strawberry jam
  • Rolled walnut top:
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons ground walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 drops of almond essence
  • Filling:
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • For the glaze:
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • milk as the icing to reach the desired consistency

Preparation Roll with jam and chocolate:

To make this roll I started from Claudia's idea , but I did it the way I wanted and the way I thought it would work out 😉

Vanilla top:

Whisk the egg whites with a pinch of salt. Add the sugar and mix until you get a dense and shiny foam. Pour boiling water and mix vigorously.

Rub the yolks with oil and vanilla essence over the egg whites and mix lightly. At the end, incorporate the flour mixed with baking powder, mixing lightly with a spatula, with movements from bottom to top.

Pour the composition into the tray (40/28 cm) lined with baking paper and bake on medium heat for about 20 minutes. Remove the top from the tray, along with the paper and turn it over on another piece of baking paper on which we sprinkled a little caster sugar. Roll the top in paper and let it cool.

Walnut countertop:

It is prepared in the same way as the vanilla top, only we add ground walnuts together with the flour.

Chocolate cream:

Whipped cream is poured over the broken chocolate pieces. Put the pot on low heat and without boiling, melt the chocolate. Homogenize, let cool, then put in the freezer for about half an hour, maybe even an hour, as long as the chocolate cream cools very well.

The cooled chocolate cream is mixed until it becomes firm and fluffy.

Unwrap the vanilla top and let it cool a little. Spread the strawberry jam evenly and roll as tight as possible.

Unfold the top with walnuts, let it cool, then grease it evenly with chocolate cream. Wrap the top over the strawberry roll.

The roll thus obtained is wrapped well in food foil, which we tighten well at the ends and tie with a knot. Tie the foil at one end with a knot, then from the other end roll, roll, roll… until it gets a cylindrical shape 😉 Tie again with a knot and refrigerate for a few hours, preferably overnight.

The next day, melt the chocolate with a piece of butter, then add milk little by little until the chocolate icing reaches the desired consistency.

Remove the roll from the foil and pour the chocolate icing over it.
