Here I am involved in a new and beautiful Electrolux brand project. This year Electrolux aims to carry on the Romanian tradition and starts with Traditional Moldovan and / or Bucovina Recipes.
I chose to make Moldovan dumplings , the delight of my Moldovan childhood get-beget 🙂
- For dough:
- 400 g flour
- 1 or
- a little salt
- warm water
- For the filling:
- 250 g cottage cheese
- 2 eggs
- 100 g sugar
- candied orange peel
Preparation Moldovan dumplings:
We put the flour in a bowl. We make a hole in the middle and add the egg, a little salt and ~ 1 cup of warm water, as much as it is necessary to obtain an elastic dough, which no longer sticks to the hands. Knead until all the flour is incorporated.
The dough obtained is spread on a table sprinkled with flour in a thin sheet, which is then cut into squares of the right size.
The cheese is mixed with eggs, candied orange peel and sugar until we get a fine cream. If the cheese is too dry, add a little sour cream. If it is too soft, add 1-2 tablespoons of starch.
Put the filling in the middle of each square of dough, and the edges stick together, giving them a triangular shape.
Boil the dumplings in salted water for 10-15 minutes. Remove to a plate and sprinkle with sugar.
Serve hot. For those who prefer, they can be served with sweetened cream poured on top.
