As I promised you, today I bring you the sweet version of the flower pie with meat .
The dough I use is a simple dough , but it can be improved with eggs, sugar and flavors, according to everyone's taste. Soon we will start looking for and compiling lists of Christmas recipes , for me for sure this wonder will be at the top of the list. 😉
- For the dough:
- 250 ml milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 7 g dry yeast
- ~ 500 g flour
- For the filling:
- 50 g butter
- ground walnut
You set the quantities of walnuts and sugar according to how you like it
- For syrup:
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 50 ml water
Preparation Flower-pie with walnut and cinnamon:
Put the flour in a bowl and mix it with the sugar, salt and dry yeast. We mix the warm milk with oil, then slowly pour it over the flour. Knead a homogeneous and non-sticky dough. Depending on the type of flour used, add more milk if necessary if the dough is too thick or a little flour if the dough is soft and sticky. Cover with a clean towel and leave to rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume.
- The dough can also be prepared in a bread machine.
We turn the raised dough on a lightly floured table and divide it into 2 parts that we will spread with the rolling pin in sheets of about 0.5 cm thick. We put one of the sheets in the large stove tray, lined with baking paper. Grease well with the soft butter that I left at room temperature. Then sprinkle with ground walnuts mixed with sugar and cinnamon. Press a little with your hand to stick to the dough sheet.
- A tied filling, such as the one for the cake, would be more appropriate, as I said, it tends to spread when we cut the petals, but with patience and care it comes out as well.
Cover with the second part of the dough and press the edges well. Using a bowl, draw the middle of the pie, then with a sharp knife cut the dough into rays, starting from the middle circle. We then take each ray separately and twist it, as many times as the dough and the filling allow us.
Leave the tray in a warm place until the dough rises a little. Bake on medium heat for about an hour, until the pie is nicely browned on top.
5-10 minutes before it is ready, prepare the syrup from 1 tablespoon of honey and about 50 ml of water. Put on low heat and boil until close to boiling point. Grease the pie well with this syrup, then put it back in the oven until it is ready, browned and appetizing.
Good appetite! 😉
