Homemade chocolate is one of my favorite desserts. When I was a child I could hardly wait for the holidays to make a double portion of homemade chocolate 😀 Now I do it whenever I feel like it and every time I remember my childhood fondly. Over time, I made besides the classic version, the recipe from my mother , all kinds of combinations, but never with orange. We liked! The orange-chocolate-walnut combination was a very happy one, homemade chocolate with oranges fits perfectly in the spirit of the winter holidays 😉 Although… a portion would not be bad even in summer! :))))
Homemade chocolate with covered oranges recipe
- 150 ml water
- 250 g sugar
- 150 g butter
- White part:
- 200 g milk powder
- 1 tablespoon orange peel
- vanilla essence
- Brown part:
- 185 g milk powder
- 15 g cocoa
- esenta de rom
Preparation Homemade chocolate with oranges:
Water and sugar are boiled over medium to high heat. Boil the syrup for about 5 minutes from the moment it boils. It will remain like a thin film on the back of the spoon. Set aside and add the butter, stir until it melts.
We put the powdered milk in two bowls. In one we put orange peel, in the other cocoa and walnut broken pieces by hand. Homogenize. We make a hole in the middle and pour half of the amount of syrup. Mix well and flavor to taste with vanilla and rum essence.
- I usually keep the orange or lemon peel in the fridge in a jar covered with a layer of sugar. For this homemade chocolate recipe I used this one, but if you don't have one you can also use fresh breed
With our hands greased with butter, we spread the two compositions on a piece of food foil.
We overlap them, then run. Wrap well in foil and refrigerate until it hardens very well.
Good appetite! 😉
