I was telling you about the recipe for beet salad with seeds of this marinated cheese. I liked it a lot, even a lot! 😀 Besides the fact that by marinating the cheese acquires a special aroma, I discovered that this way I can keep it in the fridge for a long time, without the risk of catching the smell.
The marinated feta cheese is perfect to serve with a slice of toast, with a beet salad or simply added to a tomato salad 😉
- 200 g feta cheese
- 2 cloves garlic
- peppercorns (black and red)
- hot pepper flakes
- dried basil
- dried rosemary
- olive oil
Preparation Marinated feta cheese:
Cut the feta cheese into cubes, then place in layers in a jar. Between the layers we put the garlic cloves and the rest of the spices. At the end we fill the jar with olive oil. Put the lid on, then shake the jar slightly and put it in the fridge. After about 2 days it is good to serve.
- I used dried aromatic herbs, that's why I had them available, but you can also use fresh herbs.
- Olive oil becomes cold matte, it will "clear" if you keep the jar at room temperature before serving
