* For countertop:

* 100 g butter
* 3 eggs
* 150 g sugar
* 50 ml milk
* 250 g flour
* 1 baking powder
* 1 tablespoon mac
* vanilla essence

We mix the eggs with a pinch of salt until they double in volume. Add the sugar and vanilla essence and mix until they become like a cream. Then add melted butter, milk, flour mixed with baking powder and finally poppy seeds.

Pour the composition into a tray (24 cm in diameter) lined with baking paper and put in the oven over medium heat until it starts to brown. The toothpick test is done.

* For the cream:

* 3 yolks
* 150 g sugar
* 300 ml milk
* 2 tablespoons starch
* vanilla essence
* juice from 1 lemon
* 250 ml liquid cream

Mix the yolks with the sugar until they turn white. Add the starch and mix well. "Unwrap" with the hot milk poured a little, then put the bowl on low heat. Stir continuously until the composition thickens. Leave to cool, then add the vanilla essence, lemon juice and a few tablespoons of whipped cream. Depending on your preference, you can add more lemon juice, plus its peel. Cover the cake with the rest of the whipped cream.

Leave to cool for a few hours, then portion.
