pumpkin bites recipe

My dwarfs are the main characters in terms of meat recipes on this blog, the story changes for cakes :))

Therefore, they are big fans of moussaka, especially mashed potatoes. Well, the food that looks like a bite because for now they don't know how to tell the difference. 😀 But if it's meat between two layers of… "something" :)) that's a good thing. So, having a lot of vegetables from my grandmother's garden, so organic, I thought it would be a shame not to take advantage of them.

My family licked their fingers, so I invite you to get to work 😉

pumpkin bites recipe

ingredients
  • For a 20/20 cm vessel:
  • 2 large pumpkins
  • 50 g grated cheese
  • 1 or
  • salt and pepper
  • hot pepper flakes
  • parsley and basil leaves
  • For the filling:
  • ~ 300 g turkey breast
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 large garden tomatoes
  • 1 ardei kapia
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • parsley leaves
  • salt and pepper
  • For Bechamel sauce:
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 300 ml milk
  • salt
  • a little nutmeg
  • Furthermore:
  • ~ 100 g grated cheese

Preparation Pumpkin mousse:

Peel a squash, grate it and squeeze the juice. Sprinkle with a little salt and set aside for a few minutes, until they leave their juice. Squeeze the juice well by squeezing the squash between the palms.

Put in a bowl, then add the grated cheese, egg, salt and pepper, hot pepper flakes and chopped greens. Mix the composition well until it becomes homogeneous. We will divide the composition into two parts.

Filling:

Finely chop the onion in a few tablespoons of oil. When it has softened, add the mashed tomatoes and kapia peppers and let them cook a little together. Then add the chopped turkey breast and mix until the meat is white and brown. Let it simmer until all the juice is removed from the pan. Salt and pepper to taste, add crushed garlic and chopped greens.

Sos Bechamel:

Melt the butter over low heat, add the flour and mix continuously, so that no lumps form. Pour the cold milk, little by little and mix until it starts to thicken. If it thickens too much, add more milk, we must have a thin sauce. Season to taste with salt and nutmeg. We will divide the obtained sauce into 3 approximately equal parts.

In a heat-resistant bowl greased with oil, put half the amount of pumpkin. Level nicely and cover with a layer of Bechamel sauce. We also add the meat composition, another layer of Bechamel sauce and the rest of the pumpkin. At the end we put the remaining Bechamel sauce and the grated cheese.
