Autumn is the season of aromas and jams, and quince jam occupies a special place in the memories of each of us, because its aroma is absolutely unique and, of course, delicious. There are a lot of recipes for quince preparations with fructose gelling agent and all sorts of other ingredients, but we are not very fond of them.
That's why we decided to present you today a traditional quince jam recipe, which will remind you of the pancakes with jam that your grandmother used to make when you were a child. Many people say that it is the best quince jam, so we think you should try it too.
What we propose is a quince jam, because their texture is more provocative, and it seems that the flavors are better preserved. Other people prefer grated quince jam, but it tends to turn into a kind of jam or jam and lose consistency.
Therefore, take the quinces, wash them well, clean them at the back and cut them into cubes with a side of 1-2 cm. We recommend that you keep the peel, because it gives a special flavor at the end and also makes the jam syrup stick better. Once prepared, the quinces are placed in cold water with lemon slices, which will prevent them from oxidizing and changing color.
If you want to shorten the time spent doing this, or if you want to make your work easier, you can use a cube shredder ; there are several very efficient and convenient models to use.
Put the water and sugar on the stove in a large pot, in which it is mixed with a spoon until it reaches the boiling temperature. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, let the syrup boil for 5 minutes.
In this syrup put the well drained quince cubes; bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Extinguish the fire and leave to cool; after a few hours, the pot is boiled again. Once it boils, it is timed for another 5 minutes. Generally, the jam is considered finished when the quinces acquire a reddish hue, and the syrup has the consistency of honey. Put in jars and leave to cool slowly.
There are several quince recipes when it comes to jam. For example, some people prefer to try a sugar-free quince jam recipe, which is also suitable for diabetics and can also be used by those who want to lose weight. Other people try quince jam with walnuts: chicken in syrup, boiled, and walnut kernels, preferably whole halves, for a more elegant look.
Quince jam with apples or pears is another successful formula, which many people prefer. We advise you to take into account the different boiling times of the two fruits, so that the honey does not crumble completely.
