Have you decided to change the stove or have you just moved and you have to arrange a new kitchen, from scratch? Choosing appliances is not as simple as 10-15 years ago, because the options are more and more varied. The same goes for the appliances used for cooking, the most common choice you will be made is currently between classic stoves and built-in options. Before making a decision, it is good to analyze the two options from all points of view.
Built-in versions cost more
We start with the factor that most often limits our options, namely: the budget. For those looking for an economical solution to equip the kitchen with appliances for thermal food preparation, the most offerable is the range of classic stoves. From this category, you can easily find in stores models starting from 500 – 600 lei that offer enough space in the oven for a large family and burners with electric ignition and efficient operation.
If the budget is not an essential factor or is a bit lighter, you can easily focus on a built-in combination of oven and hob. The built-in gas hobs start from 300 lei, and the electric ones from 130 – 150 lei, both categories including professional versions with 4, 5 or 6 burners that exceed 15000 lei.
The price of the built-in ovens starts from 450 lei in the case of electric ones and 950 – 1000 lei, for those powered by gas. Combining the two variants, you will therefore reach a minimum investment of 600 – 700 lei representing acquisition costs, if you focus on the most affordable models, to which are added the assembly costs.
The stove is easier to install
And from the point of view of installation, the classic option earns points in addition to the incorporable one, for those who are looking for a quick and uncomplicated solution. The classic stove, even in its gas-fired form, which requires connection to the network by an authorized company, involves a much simpler process than the alternative with a hob and built-in oven.
The latter means first of all the choice of a furniture that allows the framing of the elements from a dimensional point of view, or, if the furniture already exists, the search for devices that fit. Then follows the creation of space for the oven, in the cabinet in which you choose to install it, and respectively, for the hob, in the countertop in which it will be inserted. Although it does not last more than a day, the installation means extra expenses, mess and annoying noise for the neighbors. But those who want to have an impeccable kitchen consider that it is worth this little effort.
The visual effect
Visually, a kitchen with built-in appliances definitely looks better. There are no free spaces, everything integrates perfectly and harmoniously, and the oven and hob are present discreet and functional that you can barely notice.
By comparison, the stove is a rather bulky device, compact and often not exactly matched with the furniture, which will always stand out. In addition, the spaces that must be left on its sides, for the safety and protection of the furniture, mean places where dirt accumulates easily, but from where it is quite difficult to remove. So in the maintenance category, it will be easier with the built-in alternative.

Although there are models of slightly smaller stoves, designed to take up less usable space in rooms limited in space, they can not be compared with the possibility of integrating the oven in a tall closet.
The option to separate the hob from the oven also means that you can mount it where your plans to frame shelves or hanging cabinets do not interfere. While the stove has a square base structure, designed to accommodate four burners, built-in hobs are also available in smaller versions. You can thus opt for a two-mesh model, which takes up less space on the countertop.
The built-in versions are preferred for arranging open-space homes, because they are more discreet and give the appearance of a modern and airy cooking area, loading much less visual space.
