When we talk about the ciurigai recipe, we often refer to the Transylvanian lies, which are also called pancove, donuts with the tongue out, etc. We will present the simplest way to prepare these goodies in the following.
First of all, you have to make the dough. The first step is to mix the 300 g of flour with the salt powder, if you want Romanian donuts to taste. Next, all you have to do is prepare all the wet ingredients in a separate container. They must be well homogenized. Watch out for the butter. If you do not take it out of the fridge at least 1 hour before, melt it.
Over the wet ingredients, to form the dough for the Ardennes lies, gradually add the flour. There will be no leavened donuts, because, as you well realized from the ingredients, no yeast is used. Fluffy pancakes will not come out, but sieves, which means drier donuts.
After you have mixed all the ingredients well and kneaded this donut dough with sour cream, cover the container and let everything rest for 15 minutes. This will help, because you will have a shell of lies, the traditional recipe, elastic and easy to shape.
If you want to eat a pancova that is similar to the one you enjoyed when it came to your mother's recipes for lies, the shape must also be a characteristic. To get it, here's what you need to do: spread the dough well, until it reaches a thickness of 2-3 mm, then the sheet you get cut into strips of 2-3 cm, in parallel lines. Then, make rows of diagonal cuts to get diamonds. Then, to make beautiful pancove shapes, make a cut in the middle of each buggy, and pull one of the sharp corners through it.
What you need to do next to finish preparing this pancove recipe is to fry the donuts in hot oil. The amount of oil is determined by how big the pan is. The idea is to be as much as possible, in order to be able to form that oil bath. When you have nicely browned pancakes on both sides, take them out of the pan and leave them on a paper towel to drain the oil.
At the end, sprinkle with powdered sugar. If you want, you can serve them with all kinds of jams or certain creams – chocolate, vanilla or fruit, depending on your preferences.
Many people avoid making such recipes because they make too much smell and smoke in the kitchen. However, this will not be a problem if you have a hood that does its job. It can be a hood without evacuation or with, as the case may be. The idea is that this aspect should not be a reason not to enjoy such goodies.
